The agenda for Laval’s special additional meeting held on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 4:05 p.m. was packed.

In addition to adopting the flood zone regulations and setting a consultation date, councillors approved a settlement with the Metro Richelieu that had been pending over $300,000 in park fees.

They notified residents that a zoning bylaw change is planned for the new development on Cyrille-Delage east south of Nivelles.

They also accepted a ten-year lease with the Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust to rent the building at 480 Armand-Frappier blvd. The building is 50,647 square feet and the lease runs from Dec. 1, 2015-Nov. 30, 2025.

Laval councillors appointed several staff managers: Pierre Huot for evaluation services, Benoit Collette for community and cultural life, Chantal Sainte-Marie as city clerk and Yvan Laberge as assistant city clerk.

Approval was also given for water-work improvements and other infrastructure repairs that will be paid with funds from the federal gas tax.

Several contracts were accepted for 2015.
