On Oct. 24, the Alesia’s Magnolias team once again donated a cheque to the Montreal Children’s Hospital for $50,000 bringing the four year total to $220,000.

The foundation was formed four years ago after the sudden death of Alesia Stravroula Karidogiannis from a rare heart disease. “I put her down for her nap and she never woke up,” said Sheyda Senoglu, Alesia’s mother. Life changed forever on that day. The family has since banned together with the community to raise money for the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

All donations go to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. The money raised so far has gone towards a patient room and heart monitor machine. Newly raised funds will go towards a waiting/playroom at the new MUHC Glen super hospital to be named after Alesia. The waiting room will be for day surgery patients and parents.
