31 candidates vie for spots

Nominations have closed for the November 2 English Montreal School Board elections, with 31 declared candidates for the position of chairman and each of the 10 commissioner posts.
The candidates: Chairman: Angela Mancini (Team Angela Mancini) and Anne Lagacé Dowson (Team Lagacé Dowson). For the first time this position will be elected by universal suffrage.
Ward 1 (Côte des Neiges/Snowdon/Outremont/Town of Mount Royal): Mordechai Antal (Team Angela Mancini), Lesley Chesterman (Team Lagacé Dowson), Ellie Israel (independent) and Pierre Albert Sevigny (independent).
Ward 2 (Montreal West/NDG): Ruth Rosenfield (Team Angela Mancini) Sherlyn Figueira (Team Lagacé Dowson), Joseph Lalla (independent), and Connie Primiano (independent).
Ward 3 (Westmount/Sud Ouest): Ginette Sauvé-Frankel (Team Angela Mancini), Julien Feldman (Team Lagacé Dowson), and Fergus Keyes (independent).
Ward 4 (Côte Saint-Luc/Hampstead): Syd Wise (Team Angela Mancini) and Warren Budning (Team Lagacé Dowson).
Ward 5 (St. Laurent): James Kromida (Team Angela Mancini), Vicky Rivard (Team Lagacé Dowson) and Rosana Montoute (independent).
Ward 6 (St. Michel/Villeray/Park Extension/part of Rosemont/ Plateau Mont Royal/Ville Marie East): Dominic Furfaro (Team Angela Mancini) and Agostino Cannavino (Team Lagacé Dowson).
Ward 7 (Ahuntsic/Montreal North): Sylvia Lo Bianco (Team Angela Mancini), Linda Cianfaglia (Team Lagacé Dowson) and Ahmed Benlemoudden (independent).
Ward 8 (St. Léonard): Patricia Lattanzio (Team Angela Mancini), Elvira Truglia (Team Lagacé Dowson), Joseph Mormina (independent) and Roberto Colavecchio (independent).
Ward 9 (Anjou/Mercier/ Hochelaga Maisonneuve/part of Rosemont–Petite Patrie): Rosario Ortona (Team Angela Mancini) and Mario Bentrovato (Team Lagacé Dowson).
Ward 10 (Rivière des Prairies/Pointe-aux-Trembles): Joe Ortona (Team Angela Mancini) and Rosa Cerrelli-Bilotta (Team Lagacé Dowson).
To vote you must currently be on the permanent list of electors in Quebec, be 18 years of age and over, a Canadian citizen, domiciled in EMSB territory, domiciled in Quebec for at least six months, not be under curatorship and not have been convicted of an electoral practice offence.
