TD bank organized its 14th annual spaghetti lunch at Manago Vieux Four this past Sunday, Sept. 7, to raise funds for West Island Community Shares’ 38 charitable organizations on the West Island.
“The volunteers from the TD bank make this event a huge success,” explained Nathalie Choo-Foo event coordinator at WICS, “I would to thank their sponsors and their clients who stopped by for a delicious lunch provided by Roberto Manago and his team at Vieux Four.”
The Lambert ice cream food truck was on site for everyone to enjoy for free while their cars were being washed. Face painting and balloons were available for the kids.
The Beat of Montreal 92.5’s Natasha Hall and Claudia Marques were on hand for a meet-and-greet the more than 300 people who attended from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Organized by the TD bank, the ticket price of $20 included spaghetti, salad, bread, wine, coffee/tea and dessert. TD sponsorships brought in more than $100,000 for the cause.
According to executive director of WICS, Caroline Tison, One West Island resident out of five reaches out for help to a community organization each year. Each dollar directly translates to more hours of intervention.
The 27-member fund distribution committee at WICS ensures the allocation of funds based on the needs and priorities of the community. They have distributed $9.7 million since WICS inception.
