Kirkland council meeting

Mayor Michel Gibson personally welcomed everyone to the town council last week.

Gibson confirmed his meeting with Transport Minister, Robert Poëti in regards to the Train de l’ouest project. It was learned that $80 million would be invested in the next 18-24 months which will allow two-three additional trains each way on a daily basis.

A request to the City of Montreal and the Transport Quebec to construct of a viaduct simultaneously, or prior to the extension works for the Jacques Bizard corridor.

Gibson also confirmed that there was nothing specific to report on the Agglo issue, as everything is approved.

The planning advisory committee reported the approval and architectural integration plans to nine different lots.

The meeting was adjourned shortly after 9 p.m., with the next meeting slated for Aug. 4, at 8 p.m.
