Plaza Pointe Claire hosts event to benefit West Island Women’s shelter

Plaza Pointe Claire was front and centre, recently, as it played host to the sixth annual Royal Lepage garage sale benefiting The West Island Women’s Shelter (WIWS).
Royal Lepage, Pointe Claire is home to 30 agents, and more than half of them spent their time organizing this event.
“We receive incredible support from the community in bringing this together. My 91-year-old mother volunteers which shows the importance of the garage sale,” said Catherine Simard, organizer, and member of WIWS’ board of directors.
WIWS offers and a safe haven to women and their children who are victims of conjugal violence the past 25 years.
“After arriving at 6 a.m., and finishing at 9 p.m., I am happy to say that we were able to raise $5,000 for WIWS,” said a beaming Simard.
