Saturday Night Live Québec, after playing it coy, has announced it will be returning for another full season. Two shows aired last season to test the waters were a great success.

Laval’s Pier-Luc Funk is amongst the returning young comics. The young lineup includes Katherine Levac, Léane Labrèche-Dor, Mathieu Quesnel, Phil Roy, and Virginie Fortin.

On May 27, Télé-Quebec confirmed that SNL Québec will be returning on a monthly basis beginning in the fall, airing on Saturday nights with some high-profile hosts.

The list of hosts reads like a who’s who in the ranks of the top local talent. TV host Normand Brathwaite will be the star guest for the first show Sept. 20, actor Antoine Bertrand will be in the hot seat Oct. 18, funnyman Patrick Huard hosts Nov. 22, Tout le monde en parle frontman Guy A. Lepage drops in Dec. 13, and La Voix’ Charles Lafortune and uber-celeb Véronique Cloutier will host shows early in the new year.

Like the American original, there’s a musical guest each week playing live but the network has yet to announce any of these artists. It will air at 9 p.m. on Saturday nights.
