The tradition of the annual fall fair held at the Northlea United Church will once again take place this year on Nov. 22, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
As always the bake sale will dominate the event along with soups and sauces, jewelry, and nearly new items. There will be activities for the children and free coffee for all.
There will be a raffle for several gift baskets. Lunch will be served at a cost of $8 for adults and $6 for children.
According to Reverend Helen Hliaras, this will be the first time the fair will be held in their new location, 123 des Prairies, Laval. There are still tables available to rent.
“It’s the first bazaar at our new location. We sold our building and moved mid way through September this year,” Hliaras told The Suburban in an interview, “it is very exciting that the congregation of more than 100 families, chose to sell rather than hang on to the building that was very cumbersome in terms of repairs and maintenance.”
Hliaras explained that it took three years of reviewing all the possible options for the parishioners to decide to sell the building and rent a space from the Armenian United Church.
“We worship at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, and the Armenian United Church worships at 11 a.m.” Hliaras said. “What you would expect to divide us, culturally speaking, has actually united us.”
