Coffee improves cardiometabolic health

By Murray Sherriffs

There are several factors that can play an important role in establishing a person’s cardiometabolic health: blood sugar levels, blood pressure, body composition, including abdominal fat, subcutaneous fat and muscle mass.

Poor cardiometabolic health can increase one’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, fatty liver disease and cardiovascular disease.

We can improve cardiometabolic health by physically active, not smoking, eating well: leafy greens, fatty fish, berries and coffee.

A study published in the European Journal of Nutrition provides more evidence linking coffee consumption to cardiometabolic health.
