Vaping is hazardous to your health

By Murray Sherriffs

A study from the Manchester Metropolitan University has determined that even young, healthy individuals who use vapes and e-cigarettes put themselves in harm’s way and that they have worse blood vessel functionality, breathing efficiency and ability to exercise.

Researchers drew data from three sectors: people who never smoked or vaped, smokers who never vaped and people who vaped but never smoked.

Lead author Dr. Azmy Faisal says that the findings reveal a 15 percent reduction in athletic ability and fitness.

Active, healthy young adults with normal lungs saw vaping and smoking experienced worsened exercise capacity, increased shortness of breath and intense leg fatigue.

The research reveals that smoking and vaping can lead to harmful changes to the blood vessels and lung efficiency during exercise and a near 15 percent reduction in fitness, compared to people who never smoked or vaped.

The fact that vaping has been shown to be less carcinogenic than smoking, could be misinterpreted as safety.

These findings clarify that vaping is unsafe and can cause real damage, as well as DNA damage and inflammation.
