The vice-chairman of Laval’s executive committee, David de Cotis and St. Vincent de Paul Councillor Paolo Galati woke up early on May 6, to serve breakfast at the McDonald’s on Bellerose.

“It was a privilege for Mr. Galati and I to have had the opportunity to participate in such an honorable cause,” de Cotis told The Suburban. “We had lots of fun with the staff and customers. We will definitely be back next year!”

The event raised $7,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) by donating $1 from the sale of every Big Mac, Double Big Mac, Happy Meal, muffins and coffee.

Every year, since 1974, RMHC help lessen the burden on families with sick children. The fund helps keep families together during a child’s stay in the hospital giving them a place to rest and refresh. The programs are tailored to meet the meet the urgent needs of each community in more than 62 countries.
