The Montreal Police Department is seeking the public’s help in the brazen robbery that occurred just before closing time at the Birks jewelry store in the Fairview Shopping Centre this past Nov. 12.

At about ten minutes after eight that Wednesday evening, four male black suspects in their 20s, entered the store. The first suspect approached an employee and client, striking them with a Cayenne pepper spray.

While the employee and shopper were being hit by the spray, the other three suspects used hammers to break through the glass display cases, taking jewelry and putting it into a red bag.

Following the robbery, the four suspects dashed away on foot and left the shopping plaza via the Bank of Montreal and Sears entrances. They then departed in a black vehicle that could be a Nissan Sentra with an E in the license plate.

The first suspect was wearing white gloves, a black tuque, black leather jacket and pale hoodie. The second suspect was dressed similarly and the third suspect was carrying the red bag as well as a black coat. The fourth suspect wore black gloves and pants and a gray hoodie.

Anyone with information on the Wednesday, Nov. 12 robbery should call Info Crime at [514] 393-1133. Callers can leave information anonymously.
