Operation Coût de Crayon aims, for the 16th year in a row, to provide over 700 primary and secondary students with supplies for back to school this fall.

The ultimate goal is to give children a sense of equality and allow them to start the school year off on the right foot.

Since the program’s inception, Moisson has handed out nearly 7,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to youths in the Laval area.

The average cost according to Moisson is about $100 per student in supplies each year, not including, clothes or tuition.

Donor involvement is at the heart of this project that, last year, enabled 840 children from underprivileged neighborhoods to start the school year off right.
