The City of Montreal sent out a press release this morning to inform residents about emergency repairs to a water conduit below La Verendrye at Beaulieu Street.
Until the repairs are completed and the system is flushed, some 49,000 residents might see rust deposits or other discolouration in their water.
Despite this, the city assured residents that the water remains safe for drinking and brushing your teeth. The discolouration could stain clothes or dishes, however, so the city recommends that residents run the tap until the water runs clear prior to using it for cleaning.
