The 26th annual Red Cross campaign put on by Laval employees surpassed the projected goal of $55,000 and donated $56,783.

Each year the city employees raise funds for the poorest members of the Laval community. This fundraising campaign is considered one of the largest workplace fundraisers in the province.

Funds are raised throughout the year through hotdog days at different locations such as the Nature Center, public works department, the municipal garage and police headquarters.

Another top fundraising event in the campaign is Jean Thursdays. Employees are permitted to wear jeans to work for four Thursdays during the campaign at a cost of $2 per person per day.

Major sponsors of the event are: Sunwing Canada, Servier Canada, Clarins Canada, Hotel 71 in Quebec City and Ideal Location.

The Canadian Red Cross is the leading humanitarian organization through which people voluntarily demonstrate their caring for others in need.
