Five years ago, three young men growing up in the West Island started a company called Temple Lifestyle in order to distribute healthy food and drinks as they were inspired in their own lives to eat right for maximal health.
The founders, brothers Michael and Christopher Magnone and Mark Cigos, noticed that there was a void in the Canadian market for healthier food choices and since their inception, the company sells its products, including Temple Lifestyle’s original coconut water beverage Thirsty Buddha, has its products all across the country. Their selection of products can be found at Tau, Avrile and Health Tree stores.
But the company’s latest challenge will be showcased tonight when Cigos, Christopher Magnone and Marketing and PR Director Sabrina Silvestre made an appearance on the very popular Canadian reality TV show Dragon’s Den during the program’s fall season taping last April.
The company attended a Montreal based audition and then was given two weeks notice for the Toronto taping. “It was kind of surreal to walk into the den considering we are such fans of the show,” Silvestre told The Suburban. “It was intimidating to see the five judges who have so much business experience.” In preparation for the Toronto appearance, the trio worked with family and friends who served as mock judges.
“They tore us apart a few times which really helped us to get ready for the real thing that went well,” said Silvestre who could not say anything more about tonight’s segment.
