The Quebec based music group Made Them Lions (MTL) has three members from Laval, Mike Valletta (singer) Jeff Cohen and Matt Gillis (guitarists). MTL released their second album on Aug. 29, at The National in Montreal. To date the band has become very popular regionally; however, the new album has already been on radio in France and Italy.
The five musicians who have shared the stage with Simple Plan, Sean Paul and Mia Martina, propose a more mature album than their first album Sunshine, with its modern electro and rock.
MTL is already playing on Much Music as well as the radio with their two released songs Thanks To You and Crazy.
According to Canadian Music blog, the group cites The Police, Kings of Leon, One Republic, and Bruno Mars as influences and has developed a full, rich, modern pop/rock sound with dashes of reggae.
The group has used its celebrity status to give back to the community by raising funds for hospitals, touring high schools in anti-bullying campaigns, and supporting organizations that mentor homeless and troubled youth through the use of the arts.
Having changed production houses for their second album, MTL will be heading out on tour in Canada and the United States this fall. The group sings in both French and English.
The band is currently holding a Facebook like-and-share challenge to win VIP status at their upcoming show at Montreal’s Club Soda on Sept. 13.
