MRCY outdoor block party to mark the end of summer

The MRCY Block Party, a musical event featuring outdoor performances from a long list of current musicians will take over Montmorency College as well as the Laval campus of the University of Montreal, to mark the start of the new school year, concerts will be presented in both English and French.

To add to all the bands playing at this event, many food trucks will be on site. This event will also feature some art installations to be enjoyed.

The organizers of this event got the name MRCY Block Party from Montmorency Metro station, where the festival will be located.

One dollar from each ticket that is sold will be donated to the Montmorency College foundation. Société des transports de Laval has promised that anyone who has a ticket will be given free bus transport from on the day of the event.

The festivities will take place, rain or shine, starting at 3 p.m. The list of performing groups oriented towards the students are: Metric, The Barr Brothers, Sky Ferreira, Death from Above 1979 and Neutral Milk Hotel.

Scene 1425 is an initiative of the André-Mathieu Hall in an effort to meet the cultural needs of adolescents and young adults. Their mission is to provide locations for upcoming talent, both local and international to perform.
