Off-island Quebec election results

Soulanges and Vaudreuil remain Liberal strongholds

The Liberal candidate, Lucie Charlebois, from Soulanges riding, took 18,477 votes in Monday’s election. This represented a 44% increase in voting from 2012, and 60% from 2008. Charlebois has represented this riding since its inception in 2003.

Parti québecois candidate, Marie-Louise Seguin captured 10,800 votes, which results in a five percent decrease in voter confidence in 2012; and seven per cent from 2008.

Québec solidaire candidate Andrée Bessette received 3,320 votes, representing a 60% confidence from 2012.

The Liberal candidate, Marie-Claude Nichols, representing the Vaudreuil riding, took 26,481, representing a 27% increase of 2012. Nicols, replaces Yvon Marcoux, who held the riding since 1998. The mayor of Notre Dame de l’Île Perrot makes the transition from municipal to provincial politics.

Parti québecois candidate Marcos Archambault  collected 6,936 votes, with Coalition pour l’avenir du Québec candidate, Luc Tison, garnering 6,889 votes.
