The popular American band Maroon 5 will occupy top billing at the 10th anniversary of Laval’s Mondial Loto Québec (MLQL) to take place June 21 at the Centre de la nature park, one of the most remarkable urban parks of the Greater Montreal area.
Some of the biggest stars in the world have graced the stage such as: The Beach Boys, The Black Keys, LMFAO, YES, Styx, Aerosmith, Chicago, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Take 6 and the legendary French singer Charles Aznavour are but a few.
Originally from Los Angeles, Maroon 5 has topped music charts for more than 10 years winning Grammy, American Music and Billboard Awards for songs such as: This love, She will be loved, Moves like Jagger and Payphone.
For the past nine years, MLQL has presented a wide array of concerts and events ranging from Sunrise choral friendship concerts to late night rock concerts and symphonic events in local churches, concert halls to larger pop, rock events on outdoor stages.
The ambitious programming for 2014 will include: Marc Dupré (June 22), Isabelle Boulay (June 25, choir and symphony orchestra) and Louis-Jean Cormier (June 26) succeed them on the stage of the Nature Centre, while the excitement of the evening of St. Jean Baptiste celebrations has been entrusted to Éric Lapointe (June 24).
Choral singing is an integral part of the festivities. Since 2005, more than a thousand choirs have participated in the event from countries like Russia, Brazil, China, Japan and Africa.
Laval’s transport department will make shuttles available to festival goers to travel between the metro and Nature Centre for the duration of the event.
