Laval city councillors passed four motions to renew their relationship with the Office municipal d’habitation de Laval (OMHL) last month.

The first motion renewed management contract 1015 between the City, the OMHL and the Société d’habitation du Québec. It covers 24 private housing units within the rent supplement program and runs from June 1, 2014-May 31, 2019.

The second approved a revision to the 2014 OMHL budget. The organization’s budget from Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2014 now shows revenues of more than $4.5 million and expenses of more than $10.5 million for an operating deficit of almost six million dollars. These figures cover all 1,891 units managed by the organization.

The expenses for 459 units within the Achat-Renovation and AccesLogis Quebec programs were approved in a third motion, although they were not specifically detailed.

A fourth motion approved the expenses for the OMHL’s non-profit and cooperative housing units, but it included no figures.
