Pierrefonds-Roxboro Mayor Dimitrios (Jim) Beis, who is also a member of the Montreal executive committee responsible for procurement, sports and recreation and communities of diverse origins literally rolled up his sleeves at a recent blood drive held in the borough.
Beis was among 116 Pierrefonds-Roxboro residents who took the time to come out and give the gift of life. One donation of blood can help save the lives of four Canadians in need of transfusions, surgeries or platelets.
For the newly elected Pierrefonds-Roxboro mayor’s altruistic act, he was accompanied by Marc Blondin, the borough’s blood drive and great ambassador of Héma-Québec. It was Blondin’s 150th time giving the gift of life.
