Unfortunately the Archives de Charente have decided to offer the digitized portion of their collection of fonds only to those only who visit the premises of this important repository.
Important to researchers in North America, for a good number of French Canadian and Acadian families originated from Charente.
Every six months I will be reviewing this dossier and report on the issue of online searches for free. For a great number of researchers in France are demanding an online solution from this archives.
