Marigot district city councillor Francine Légaré succumbed to cancer in the Laval palliative care home, June 14, at the age of 57.
She was buried in the Ste. Dorothée cemetery on rue Principale.
Légaré, who had served as a councillor representing the citizens of Marigot district since 2001, had been fighting cancer for several months.
One of her last public appearances had been in November, when she and her colleagues voted to elect Alexandre Duplessis as interim mayor of Laval, following the resignation of Mayor Gilles Vaillancourt.
