The city of Laval will be offering hazardous waste disposal on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parking lot of city hall located at 1333 Chomedy Blvd., and also accessible by Cardinal Avenue.
Twice each year, spring and fall, the city offers collection of hazardous waste. In 2012 the city collected seven tons of paint, eight tons of used tires, a ton of car batteries and 11 tons of computer and electronic equipment.
Citizens of Laval will have to show proof of residence as they take this opportunity to dispose of their products in a safe and environmentally friendly fashion.
Paint cans, solvents, car batteries unused, worn tires and other hazardous wastes will be disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
ARPE-Quebec will be on hand to collect electronics and computer equipment.
For disposal throughout the year, a list of private companies that offer collection of hazardous items is available on the city website www.laval.ca under Environment, recycling and collection.
