A man who found gold bars worth an estimated C$1,1 million in his back yard in Lyon, France, will get nothing if the original owner doesn’t claim it. He was gardening when he found the bars and, being the honest man whom his mom and dad raised, he dutifully went to authorities. Police have determined that the bars were legally purchased about 20 years ago. The search is on for whoever owned the home before the gold digger. If he or she has passed and there are no heirs, then the gold would go to the state.
