Jacques Gagné’s tips for researching French ancestors

By Tracey Arial

Jacques Gagné has been helping people research their Québécois and French roots for years. Many of the members of the Quebec Family History Society count on him to help decipher French genealogy terms and context.

This post is an introduction to Jacques, who will be posting a series of helpful hints for researching ancestors with roots in France, beginning tomorrow.

If you have ancestors who came to Canada, the United States or elsewhere from France, you’ll appreciate Jacques’ explanations and the many links to resources that he’ll be covering over the next couple of months.

Thanks so much for sharing your expertise, Jacques!
