Election day | Quebec | 2026: The question of how voters react to the political promises that have been made during five weeks of campaigning, will be answered tonight.

• The Parti Québécois outlined its agenda for the first 100 days after being elected

• The CAQ is advocating for its nationalist “third way”

• The Liberals are warning of the economic risks of independence

• The Conservatives are hoping that at least 20% of voters will go their way

• Quebec Solidaire says that it is the only party not influenced by conservative, right wing ideas

Quebec is “uninvestable”, when compared to other economies and Andrew Lutfy, head of Groupe Dynamite and Royalmount, is urging a radical improvement of the business climate, if the province wants to afford its hospitals, schools and infrastructure.

CAQ leader Fréchette says that she should have put greater emphasis on the impact of a referendum; that her team might have spent too much effort detailing party promises, when it ought to have been speaking about the differences between the CAQ and the other parties.

A man in his 40s died after accidentally falling onto the tracks at the Lionel Groulx metro station on Saturday. Closed-circuit video shows him desperately attempting to climb back onto the platform, before being hit by a train.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Lyle Odelein has passed, aged 58 years, of a heart attack.
