The Sûreté du Québec has concluded its investigation into what happened in the field near Rang des Écossais off Highway10 in Sainte Brigide d’Iberville. Federal Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon has appointed a minister’s observer to monitor any federal investigation. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is working to determine the cause of the crash.

Lawyers have sent a formal letter to Élections Québec and the province’s Attorney General, demanding a retraction of its instruction to workers to ask English people for their eligibility certificate if they want to be talked to in their language when they go to vote.

Promises from the parties vying for power:
• The CAQ would allow doctors to practice in the public and private sectors without having to withdraw from RAMQ and reduce Santé Québec’s administrative expenses by $1 billion.
• The Liberals would create a telehealth platform for all Quebecers and invest millions in CLSCs and make them “anchor points” in communities.
• The PQ is promising to abolish Santé Québec and is also promising to make CLSCs the “gateway” to the health-care system with a $150-million investment and make the system less “hospital-centric”.
• The Conservatives say that they too would abolish Santé Québec and refer patients to the private sector and reduce health-care wait times.
• Quebec Solidaire would create up to 400 points of access to frontline health care, primarily through CLSCs and halt the privatization of the health-care system.

Econolease commissioned the 2026 Hospitality Operator Report and has learned that the majority of the 250 restaurants it surveyed plan to hike prices this year.
