Two head-on motor vehicle road crashes in Quebec: one yesterday on Route 138 West in north shore Les Escoumins, where a vehicle, attempting to pass another, collided with three eastbound vehicles on Saturday, killing two of the nine people involved; the second on Friday in the Laurentians, with three dead when a vehicle attempted to pass another on a curve.

That white hearse from the SAAQ travelling across Quebec during the construction holiday in an effort to get people to practice safe driving habits, will be in several communities where it will encourage people to to sign it, pledging to drive safely.

More than 100 international students and supporters gathered yesterday in front of the private Collège Supérieur de Montréal, to protest the revocation of its operating permit by the Quebec government. It is among four subsidized colleges under permit suspension, the others being Herzing College, Veritas College of Technology in Montreal and Collège Supérieur de Sherbrooke.
