A video recorded last June is circulating on TikToc which shows a motorist insulting a Montreal police officer, as he objected to being ticketed for having too-dark windows on his car; “…you’re my slave, if I want you to be, you’d be my slave. You fucking bitch.” / “shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up, you fucking bitch” and showing the officer maintaining her professionalsim. Montreal police chief Fady Dagher has damned the comments directed at his officer and is calling on the city to determine if a bylaw can be introduced to stop such behavior. Montreal Mayor Martinez Ferrada says that the language and behaviour is “unacceptable and sexist” and shows “…a complete lack of respect for our police officers, who do a difficult job.” Quebec Justice Minister Simon Jolin-Barrette says that police officers “do difficult work” and need to be “supported” in their role to “serve and protect” the public.

In his tribute to the two Jazz pilots killed at New York’s Laguardia airport, he said “…that’s crazy and not reciprocal. There are many one-sided laws in Canada that mandate French at the expense of English—extremely hypocritical and unfair!”
