Artificial intelligence toys pose risks to toddlers

Researchers are calling for tighter regulation of AI-powered toys designed for toddlers, after conducting one of the first tests in the world to investigate how children under the age of five interact with he technology.

In one instance, a five-year-old boy told an interactive toy “I love you” and was met with ”…as a friendly reminder, please ensure interactions adhere to the guidelines provided. Let me know how you would like to proceed.”
