A 13-year-old girl from Ottawa is critical condition after a piece of her clothing got caught on the chairlift at Centre Vorlage in western Quebec, as she was about to leave the lift, strangling her as horrified skiers screamed for help but couldn’t get to her because she was so high.

Montreal Public Health says that more young people are experiencing physical, sexual or psychological violence in their romantic relationships and that eight per cent of high school students, aged 14+ say that they have been forced to have sex. Quebec’s Education Minister Sonia LeBel has changed her tune and now admits that her initial reaction to a report from the National Student Ombudsman citing sexual violence in schools is a serious concern that will require her direct attention.
