Former SAAQ vice-president of Information Technology Karl Malenfant is claiming that he did nothing shameful in the administration of SAAQclic: That it was not a fiasco; that he was prevented from responding to allegations made against him; all of this presumptive to what he expects when the Gallant Commission’s report is released. Malenfant met with Montreal reporters, handing each of them a box of documents along with a 112-page response to the notice of censure containing 48 allegations against him.

Pressure is mounting on the CAQ government because the two candidates who aspire to replace Francois Legault as leader say that they’ll bring back parts of the Quebec Experience Program, with Parti Québécois MNA Joël Arseneau claiming, “…Quebec has become ungovernable with this leadership race”and Quebec Liberal interim leader Marc Tanguay calling on Premier Legault to make things clear.

Montreal Mayor Martinez Ferrada plans to eliminate 1,000 positions in her term, as part of a major restructuring of the city’s civil service with the goal of creating “…a more agile, efficient city closer to the people”, to simplify the process, streamline the structure and generate savings.

Retired Superior Court judge Jacques R. Fournier, who has been investigating the text message scandal that helped bring down former Quebec Liberal leader Pablo Rodriguez, says that it’s impossible to say if electronic mail messages about the 2025 Quebec Liberal leadership race, are real or fabricated.

The Regroupement Provincial des Comités des Usagers says that the Legault government has “thrown in the towel” on family doctors, and that patients will pay the price.

Sexual violence is not being treated with the seriousness that it deserves in Quebec’s school system and National Student Ombudsman Jean-François Bernier says that “…there is a long way to go before acts of sexual violence are treated with the seriousness they deserve.”

Health Canada says that consumers should immediately stop using two models: The OM-TD BIKE sold in children’s size small, manufacture date 05/2024 and the model number OM202400.520 and the OM-KSKB sold in youth small size, manufacture date 11/22 model number OM240326. The advisory recommends to “…immediately stop using the products and contact Outdoor Master for instructions on how to register for a full refund.”609 units were sold June 2024-February 2025.
