For the second year running, Centropolis celebrated, from dawn to dusk, the opening of their summer program.
At press time those present on June 21, were to start out with a yoga session for parents and babies at 8 a.m. Followed by several different activities including a Zumba dance class, BBQ, treasure hunt and a cocktail competition. These are some of the activities that will be available until the end of August.
At the end of the day there was a show at the fountain in Place Centrale with musicians, singers, dancers, trapeze and other artists.
The summer line up
On Thursday, Aug. 21, the film Moulin Rouge will be presented in an open air screening. People are encouraged to dress up in frills, sequins and boas. There will be a true atmosphere of the era as makeup artists transform the crowd that will have the opportunity to take an authentic cancan lesson with professional dancers.
Every Friday evening from July 4 to Aug. 29, at 9 p.m. the Central artists group will present local artists with varying sounds from jazz, swing, and soul. Music will come from as early as the 1960’s to today.
