Fundraiser for West Island Palliative Care Residence<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A new event for women will be heldonMay28,from6to9p.m.at the Chateau Vaudreuil Pavillion to benefit the West Island Palliative Care Residence. It’s a Pyjama Party! Several kiosks will offer products and services geared to women. During the cocktail hour there will be wine and hors d\u2019\u0153uvres served. <\/p>\n

CTV\u2019s Christine Long will host the evening. Inspirational speeches specifically addressed to women will be given by Ellie Ballentine, mindset mentor and Yolande James former provincial MNA. The theme of the speeches will be the many important roles women play and the challenges they face, especially as caregivers. <\/p>\n

\u201cI said yes to speaking at the PJ Party because I am very aligned with the intention behind the West Island Palliative Care Residence \u2014 providing comfort and care to those who are dying,\u201d Ellie Ballentine explained to The Suburban<\/i> in an interview, \u201cSince my work is about connecting people to bringing more life to their days, I am inspired to speak to a group of people who are interested in actively supporting the intention of creating a warm, loving and caring environment for people’s last “curtain call”. As I teach many of my clients, the long-searched for meaning of life lies within all of us. Maybe it’s not about living forever, but forever living every moment until our last breath.\u201d <\/p>\n

There will also be a live hip-hop performance by the Brat Pack. <\/p>\n

The West Island Palliative Care Residence is the largest freestanding community based palliative care residence in Canada and an active promoter of the needs of the dying and their loved ones. With 23 beds, it has cared for close to 2,500 patients and over 10,000 of their family members since opening in 2002. <\/p>\n

The Residence\u2019s commitment is to provide a place where people can reach the end of their lives in dignity and peace, in their own community, surrounded by trained and caring professionals. <\/p>\n
