Acrosport trampoline camp refused to take a booking from camp Ohr Menachem earlier this month, allegedly based on the fact that Acrosport claimed that it had had trouble in the past with payments from Jewish camps. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who pays will be granted a booking,\u201d a woman who spoke on behalf of Acrosport told The Suburban<\/i> during a telephone interview, though she refused to identify herself. <\/p>\n

A competing camp has thrown its hat into the ring and offered a policy of zero discrimination. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are happy to take reservations from any group from any religion,\u201d said Franca Buonno, camp manager for iSaute Centre de Trampoline,<\/i> located at 2045 Dagenais West [514] 761-7373. <\/p>\n

Ohr Menachem has brought the matter to the attention of B’nai B’rith and its League for Human Rights is investigating the matter. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs\u2013Quebec (CIJA-Quebec) has posted on their website that it is \u201cdeeply disturbed by the reports of blanket refusal by the Acrosport Barani Trampoline Club to receive any Jewish camps.\u201d <\/p>\n

The CIJA said that it has requested a meeting with the camp to clarify the controversy and try to work out a constructive solution. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
