The 26th annual Red Cross campaign put on by Laval employees surpassed the projected goal of $55,000 and donated $56,783. <\/p>\n

Each year the city employees raise funds for the poorest members of the Laval community. This fundraising campaign is considered one of the largest workplace fundraisers in the province. <\/p>\n

Funds are raised throughout the year through hotdog days at different locations such as the Nature Center, public works department, the municipal garage and police headquarters. <\/p>\n

Another top fundraising event in the campaign is Jean Thursdays. Employees are permitted to wear jeans to work for four Thursdays during the campaign at a cost of $2 per person per day. <\/p>\n

Major sponsors of the event are: Sunwing Canada, Servier Canada, Clarins Canada, Hotel 71 in Quebec City and Ideal Location. <\/p>\n

The Canadian Red Cross is the leading humanitarian organization through which people voluntarily demonstrate their caring for others in need.
