The Beaurepaire Village Merchants Association of Beaconsfield hosted their first outdoor artisan fair in support of NOVA West Island this past Saturday. <\/p>\n

The artistic talents of more than 40 artisans came out to sell their wares with weather that was very cooperative. The main street was lined with kiosks housing creators of all kinds from authors to jewelry designers, from baked goods to dog biscuits; there was plenty to meet all tastes. <\/p>\n

According to one Beaconsfield resident, Chantal Therrien, who was out browsing with her daughter Annika, she likes the idea of having the fair in her town because it generates a sense of community. \u201cWe not only get to discover all kinds of new things but we get to meet our neighbors,\u201d Therrien explained in an interview with The Suburban,<\/i> \u201cI also think it is important to encourage local artists.\u201d <\/p>\n

NOVA sold raffle tickets for a quilt donated by the Beaconsfield Quilters\u2019 Guild. The raffle will take place in the fall. The Heroes Park committee was out in full force educating those who strolled by on the cenotaph project that will grace Shore Park come October. They were selling custom engraved border stones that will line the path to the cenotaph. <\/p>\n

The Beaurepaire Village Merchants Association puts on several events each year in its commitment to charitable organizations. On the same day as the fair, they teamed up with Royal Lepage Elite for their annual national garage sale in support of the West Island Women\u2019s Shelter.
