Ste. Anne de Bellevue (SADB) was the scene of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup held Saturday, July 5.<\/p>\n

The route commenced from the tip of SADB reaching the Coop du Grand Orme<\/i> at the edge of the Highway 20 Bridge.<\/p>\n

Fourteen volunteers, young, and old spent two and a half hours picking up close
\n to 15 pounds of garbage, coupled with an additional two pounds of recyclables, which were then separated into two different coloured bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cSADB and the World Wildlife Fund sponsored the event with collaboration from Cunningham\u2019s Pub, Lise-Anne Briand, Massage Therapy, and the Coop du Grand Orme.<\/i><\/p>\n

“It was my first time coordinating this event as well as the first time that the shoreline cleanup has extended through the main centre of town. The college hosts a regular fall shoreline cleanup each year in the region near the campus,\u201d organizer James Maynard told The Suburban.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI found picking up trash to clean up the shoreline was a satisfying, humbling, and surprisingly fun way to spend time with good, like-minded people of the community. A good time was had by all,\u201d said Ile Perrot resident, Michelle Bruy\u00e8re. <\/p>\n

“I couldn’t believe how many water bottles we picked up. It is great that we recycled all of them,” said SADB resident, Ryan Young. <\/p>\n
