Pointe Claire parks program put on their annual fair July 10. Valois Park was filled with families enjoying very cooperative weather and a festival of activities. <\/p>\n

For park leader Dale MacKenzie volunteering at the fair is one way to give back to the park program that he and his two brothers enjoyed growing up. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe love this event and we have such good memories of the program itself,\u201d MacKenzie told The Suburban<\/i> in an interview. \u201cMy mom was a single mom and this gave us a place to go. It is an amazing program.\u201d <\/p>\n

Five Pointe Claire parks offer free programs to children each weekday from 9:30 a.m.-noon and again from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

According to MacKenzie, in all five parks there are two leaders, one man and one woman, who are paid by the city. There are also two supervisors for the program. More than 350 children attend the program throughout the summer. <\/p>\n

Dale\u2019s brother Matt chimed in from his post at the BBQ, \u201cThe parks program saved my mother\u2019s life.\u201d <\/p>\n

Pointe Claire annual fair day boasts many fun activities such as games, bouncy toys, euro bungee jumping, BBQ, cotton candy, ice cream and live music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
