Quebec\u2019s Ministry of Cybersecurity and Digital Technology and two accounting firms\u2014KPMG and MNP\u2014say that Christine Fr\u00e9chette\u2019s government ignored an analysis that estimated a major Sant\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec IT project\u2014SIFA\u2014could cost $1 billion, not the $96 million projected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quebec Liberal Leader Charles Milliard says that \u201c…this is 100 per cent Mrs. Fr\u00e9chette\u2019s decision.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey went again and again, like they did with SAAQclic, against recommendations they had from consultants they paid, then they\u2019re saying, \u2018no, thank you,\u2019let\u2019s go burn some money.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u00e9bec Solidaire says hat that Fr\u00e9chette \u201cshould be ashamed, it\u2019s her responsibility; a lot of people inside of the Ministry of Digital Technology told her to be careful, and she didn\u2019t listen, she decided to go forward, and it\u2019s Quebecers paying for that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conservative party leader \u00c9ric Duhaime says that, like \u201call taxpayers,\u201d he is outraged by \u201canother fiasco, another SAAQclic. It’s even worse than SAAQclic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul Brunet, Chair of the Council for the Protection of Patients, says that the ballooning cost is ”catastrophic; as premier, she probably trusted people she shouldn\u2019t have.
