Mayor Michel Gibson, with municipal council, and employees,welcomed 100 citizens in attendance for the official launch of the brand new Harris Park splash pad. <\/p>\n

The splash pad is the first of its kind in Kirkland that will offer the neighborhood a safe haven for the children. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe budget for this project was committed in 2013. Parents asked if they needed to drive as far as Vaudreuil to use the nearest splash pad\u201d said Gibson. <\/p>\n

The demographics suggested that a high percentage of young families around Harris Park will benefit from this water works. <\/p>\n

We will look at expanding additional splash pads to other parks depending on the success of Harris Park,\u201d Gibson told The Suburban.<\/i><\/p>\n

The splash pad operates between 8a.m.-8:30pm, and is open to citizens around the West Island.
