Nuns\u2019 Island residents will be even more cut off from the Verdun mainland than usual for the next few weeks. <\/p>\n

The access ramp to Highway 15 north closed completely at 10 p.m. last Sunday night. It won\u2019t open again until 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6. The Wellington Street exit from Highway 15 also remains closed for the foreseeable future. <\/p>\n

As a detour, residents are supposed to take Highway 10 to Atwater and then turn around on the Bonaventure to go back to Highway 15 north. They can then take the La Verendrye exit to get to Verdun or continue north on Highway 15. Any resident who has attempted this detour will probably choose to avoid it. <\/p>\n

Cycling is no easier. The ice bridge is closed for the next two weekends as well. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the borough of Verdun is still finishing major sewage work on LaSalle Boulevard, although that\u2019s supposed to finish sometime this month.<\/p>\n

Traffic headaches continue next month with the complete closure of all the north-bound lanes on the Champlain Bridge on Oct. 4 and 5. <\/p>\n

Then the problems go the other way, when the southbound lanes of the Champlain Bridge close completely on the weekend of Oct. 18 and 19. The access ramp heading south closes that weekend too. Authorities don\u2019t say whether that closure will also last three weeks. That weekend\u2019s detour leads Nuns\u2019 Island residents north on the Champlain Bridge and then back south on the Victoria Bridge. <\/p>\n

Transport authorities say that the major work on the Bonaventure Highway that\u2019s still underway will be \u201cco-ordinated accordingly.\u201d
