The city of Laval will be offering hazardous waste disposal on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parking lot of city hall located at 1333 Chomedy Blvd., and also accessible by Cardinal Avenue.<\/p>\n

Twice each year, spring and fall, the city offers collection of hazardous waste. In 2012 the city collected seven tons of paint, eight tons of used tires, a ton of car batteries and 11 tons of computer and electronic equipment.<\/p>\n

Citizens of Laval will have to show proof of residence as they take this opportunity to dispose of their products in a safe and environmentally friendly fashion.<\/p>\n

Paint cans, solvents, car batteries unused, worn tires and other hazardous wastes will be disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.<\/p>\n

ARPE-Quebec will be on hand to collect electronics and computer equipment. <\/p>\n

For disposal throughout the year, a list of private companies that offer collection of hazardous items is available on the city website www.laval.ca<\/a> under Environment, recycling and collection. <\/p>\n
