Air Canada has suspended its passenger service to Cuba, citing a shortage of aviation fuel on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will send empty aircraft to pick up thousands of travellers and bring them home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Projections are that as of February 10, aviation fuel will no longer be commercially available at the island\u2019s airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Transat and WestJet intend to continue flights, despite the fuel shortage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuba is in the midst of an energy crisis caused by the U.S. blockade of oil to the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
