Workers closed off the shoulders last week along Highway 13, day and night, while they work on installing guard rails along the median.<\/p>\n

The construction will affect traffic along two sections of Highway 13, from Samson to Dagenais in Laval, and from Grande C\u00f4te (Highway 344) to Highway 640 in Boisbriand.<\/p>\n

According to Transport Quebec, the work is slated to continue through to the start of November 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring rush hour, however, only partial restriction of the shoulders will be permitted,\u201d Transport Quebec reassured in a statement.<\/p>\n

The highway authority explained that the new infrastructure will replace weaker, semi-rigid crash barriers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese safety measures are aimed at protecting motorists when they reach the exit ramps,\u201d Transport Quebec said.<\/p>\n
