The city committee Rethink Laval wants your opinion on how its residents see the city in 2035. The committee was formed to interpret surveys and input from discussion groups that will provide a sense of direction in the preparation of the new strategic vision for the city. <\/p>\n

In the month of October, the city will hold public consultations to hear what the residents want for the future of the city with regards to various topics concerning land use, urban growth, immigrant integration, infrastructure, quality of life, the environment, mobility, health and safety. <\/p>\n

Until Sept. 20, residents were invited to spontaneously describe how they see the city in three words and why, via Survey Monkey available on the city website (French only). The words were compiled into a mosaic that will give the Rethink Laval committee an idea of how to proceed with the strategic vision due out in the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2015. <\/p>\n

Residents can participate by attending the consultation meetings as well as answer by e-mail the monthly question ‘What do you think?’. <\/p>\n

The August question was \u2014 ‘What would be the largest project to be developed to improve your quality of life in Laval?’ ‘Why?’ The most popular answer was improvement of bike paths by 24 per cent of the respondents. <\/p>\n

September\u2019s question is ‘How do I see life in Laval in 2035?’ At press time, October\u2019s question had not yet been posted on the city website. <\/p>\n

Previous months results will be posted as they become available. <\/p>\n
