\u201cThe goal of the project is to create a mural that will bring beauty to our community, and help sustain its vitality and energy,\u201d said Trudeau. <\/p>\n
The Public Art Committee, in association with the Stewart Hall gallery offered the opportunity to A\u2019Shop, an artist-run collective company specialized in graffiti murals, street art and urban aesthetics. <\/p>\n
The mural drew inspiration from its location. It has a nautical theme that is covered by natural landscape, depicting Lac St. Louis wildlife, and sports, practiced at the canoe club. <\/p>\n
The Pointe Claire Canoe and Kayak Club offers children and adults the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful waterfront, with a wide variety of canoes, and kayaks from sleek lightweight racing boats to pleasure crafts. The organization provides excellent summer and winter programs with nationally qualified coaches. <\/p>\n
The Public Art Committee was established in 2013, under the creation of council. This effort is its first project, whose goal is to promote Pointe Claire\u2019s historical, and cultural heritage, natural environment, and to develop existing structures with professional artwork. <\/p>\n
The Pointe-Claire Canoe club is located at 73 Lakeshore Road.
