Ste. Rose\u2019s annual white festivities have expanded to three other locations this winter to mark 2015 Laval en Blanc.<\/i><\/div>\n

\nTo mark the 50th anniversary of when the city of Laval was formed from a cluster of towns and villages on \u00cele J\u00e9sus in 1965, Laval en Blanc<\/i> was created out of a ten-year-old festival that takes place in Old Ste. Rose. Ste. Rose will also be celebrating its 275th birthday this year.<\/p>\n

From the Jan. 31-Feb. 21, Laval residents will be able to enjoy the beauties of winter.<\/p><\/div>\n

According to St. Vincent de Paul Councillor Paolo Galati, Laval en Blanc<\/i> will be held in four different parts of the city. The first will be held in Old Ste. Rose where it all began from Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The second will take place Feb. 7, in Parc des Prairies. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe third and most exciting for me will be at the Nature Centre in St. Vincent de Paul on Feb. 14 and the last will be held Feb. 21 at Centropolis,\u201d Galati told The Suburban<\/i> in an interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a lot happening, ice sculptures, sliding, free skating and ringette,\u201d he explained, \u201cA bit like Montreal\u2019s F\u00eate des Neiges, except that in Laval we stretch it over a four-week period.<\/p>\n

Also on the list of fun activities are ice fishing, fireworks, dog sled races and several shows geared for family fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the success of Laval\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve bash, we\u2019re looking forward to these outdoor events,\u201d Galati said.<\/p>\n
